Dutch company Avantium focuses on the development and commercialisation of the next generation of biobased plastics and chemicals based on renewable raw materials instead of fossil fuels. This is achieved, for example, through the use of unique technological options in the field of advanced catalysis research & development. The listed company was founded as a spin-off of Shell in 2000, with its head office in Amsterdam. Avantium now has three business units: Catalysis, Renewable Chemistries and Renewable Polymers.

Rosenberg provided the complete installation for the supply and extraction of air for the Amsterdam laboratories. Based on a shared sustainability vision, the choice was made to use a twin coil system for heat recovery. This also created 100% separate air flows. Because the extracted air from the laboratories can be toxic, a special design was required to ensure the motors were placed outside the air flow, meaning special exhaust fans were designed. The complete installation was supplied from the Rosenberg factory.
