We supplied the first air handling unit for the Nuclear Medicine and Day Nursing Department of the MCL in 2019. This involved the replacement of old metal casings that had to contend with recurring rust formation, especially on the external air intake side. A plastic air handling unit with a 12-year warranty on the casing was seen by the MCL technical service as the solution to the rust problem (Leeuwarden is less than 30 km from the Wadden Sea and is therefore on the border of the ISO 9223 corrosion area C5- marine with a very high corrosion load). The installation of the first AHU went well, and the MCL technicians were very positive about the high quality of the Liberty air handling units.
The next unit was replaced in 2020. This time, a supply-exhaust unit with heat wheel, humidification and a change-over battery was included. This unit is for a general nursing ward requiring 33,500 m³/h of fresh outside air to be heated, humidified and finally filtered with a high-quality ePM1 85% filter. A great operation led by BAM Bouw and Techniek Regio Noord. One part of the unit could be put in place in its entirety. Another part had to be built on site by our service department due to a lack of space. The short time frame for installation meant the parts had to be lifted during the night. This ensured there was as little disturbance to the trauma helicopter operations as possible.
We supply Liberty solutions for each building type. Looking for solid advice? Contact our Sales Department!
